RCA “On Air” Sign Studio Recording Light

SOLD!The most iconic “on air” sign warning lights were made by RCA Victor in the 1930s When radio and television stations were creating live programs, they had to have a signal to let everyone know that they were rolling, and not to interrupt. The body is cast aluminum, with stylized “speed stripes” on the sides. The face is solid glass, with raised lettering. This one has an original paper stock number label on the back of the glass. Inside the light there are 2 decals with the RCA logo. The original lighting was a Lumiline bulb, which is no longer available. It has been replaced with two frosted candelabra bulbs in standard size sockets. New wiring and an in line switch were also added. The lamp looks great and displays wonderfully.
