Large Wall Plaque Porcelain Pig W/ Piglets – German C. 1840
This lovely Pig with her litter of Piglets originally came from Germany c. 1840 and ended up in a Little Rock, AR Meat Packing Co. When the Company was sold, the wife of the owner asked to have it for her new Antique Store. Her husband said, only if she called the shop “The Porcelain Pig”. It remained the mascot of the shop from 1979 until she closed many years later.
It’s such a charming study with the happy Mother suckling her brood, it would be perfect for any large Kitchen or Dining room or anywhere a person with some imagination could place it.
