Grafonola Parlour Victrola Desk c 1910
30% OFF! Before CD's, DVD's, stereo and television, and radio….there was the victrola. This was the center of home entertainment in the early twentieth century. And with an original price tag of $200, they certainly were out of reach for most of the working class. This example is in a fine original finished mahogany cabinet. The victrola simply cranks up and plays wonderfully. The opposing end of the desk has a ported speaker opening. The platter spins at 78 rpm, and records and extra needles are included. The Columbia Grafonola decal is in fine condition. The Columbia Recording Co. oversaw the production of these fine desks, as it was in their best interests, insuring the sales of countless recordings.
