40% OFF! If you are familiar with the Los Angeles area, you certainly are aware of the lore of Topanga Canyon. A naturally wooded rustic area connecting the San Fernando Valley to the Malibu coast, it has long been a free spirited and artistic community. They have fiercely resisted any development and still retains its hippie charm to this day. It has always had a core of artists and musician residents and was the favored locale for Neil Young, among many others. Jean of Topanga created this sensual carved stool back in the 1960s, fashioned of walnut and nicely finished. Like the designs of contemporaries like Sam Maloof, the piece has a sculptural quality to it. The stool is well made and solid, without any issues.
