Baranger Motion Display – Bees & Daisies c.1950

Baranger Motion Displays were animated store-window advertising displays produced from 1937 – 1959. Baranger Studios, out of Pasadena, CA, only rented the displays to jewelry stores. Only 30 of each design were made and a new design produced each month.

The display we are offering is called “Bees and Daisies” numbered M-173 and produced in 1950. According to the records of the company 12 of the 30 were dismantled for salvage leaving only 18 known. The 2 daisy heads originally turned clockwise and counterclockwise. Something about this proved problematic and on this display the heads were made stationary. It still has plenty of motion as the Professor “Bee-tnik” teaches his students about the flowers and the flowers move their eyes and lips. A very charming display!
