1960’s Silver & Malachite Necklace by Graziella Laffi

Sterling silver and malachite pendant necklace created by Graziella Laffi of Peru. Necklace choker measures 18″ in circumference. The pendant measures 2″ (including bale) by 1 1/8″ and is signed 925, Sterling, Peru. In very good vintage 1960s condition.

Laffi was born in Florence, Italy and studied drawing, painting, and architecture before turning her attention to silversmithing. In 1947 she immigrated with her parents to Peru where Graziella’s father, Gino, also a metalsmith, opened a small workshop named Casa Laffi. It was at his workshop that she developed her remarkable skills as a silversmith. Laffi has been referred to as the “Spratling of Peru”.
