1930’s Edward H.Bohlin Vest of Black leather encrusted with large Bohlin Sterling Silver Conchos, silver diamonds, squares and rosettes. There is a small Sterling Buckle set for closure. The label reads “Distinctive Saddlery and Riding Apparel – Edward H. Bohlin – Hollywood / Palm Springs”.
Bohlin’s original designs incoporated gold and silver used in combination with leather. His skill and artistry caught the eye of western movie idols such as Tom Mix, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and John Wayne. His shop, the Edward H. Bohlin Co., located at 5760 Sunset Boulevard, clinched his reputation as the “saddlemaker to the stars.”
Fit’s a Man size Medium or a Woman size Medium or Large.
The condition is very good for a piece of this age and the leather is very soft and supple. There are areas of the leather that are cracked and showing age, the label is worn – someone enjoyed this vest and it has many more years of enjoyment to come!
