Mid-Century Sculpted Panel in Glazed Ceramic and Mosaic Tile
This incredible work was commissioned for a home in the Hollywood Hills in 1972. The deeply dimensional forms are organic ceramics at its' best, echoing the works of Beatrice Wood and other artists. The work is signed on the reverse side, but is illegible. The ceramic forms are offset by fields of colorful glass mosaic tile and set into a form of patterned cut wood. The work is mounted to a secondary wooden panel and reinforced with steel. The art came from a very upscale home and was obviously created by an artist of great skill, if not great renown.
