Harvey Probber Style “Surfboard” Terrazzo and Walnut Coffee Table

Harvey Probber (American 1922-2003) is known as the inventor of modular furniture, seating that was flexible in its layout. He formed Harver Probber Inc. in 1945, and created modern furniture into the 1970s. This table is formed terrazzo over a wooden slab, intersected with two pedestal legs. There are some fine surface cracks in the terrazzo top, but the wooden core keeps the table solid. The wooden elements are original, showing minor age wear.
