Early 20th Century Lithographed Magician Poster by Escher
A very captivating image of a solo magician in the fixed gaze of a Buddha – like figure. The mystery is compounded by the pair of question marks on either side. The poster is done in a stone lithograph form, more commonly used in the late 19th – early 20th century poster art. The work is in excellent condition, and nicely matted and framed. It is print signed by the artist Escher, and stamped with the German lithographers. It may have been used as a promotional poster for an early European magician, with an advertising strip added to the bottom showing show times and location. Poster opening size is 26 by 34.25 inches.
