American Indian Carved Wooden Mural – 1960s
50% OFF! ON HOLD This incredible work was created in the 1960s by California wood carver Leanora Oliver Nunn, and is signed in the bottom corner. The carving was created on panels of redwood, displaying fine detail and the finest execution. The work depicts a Native American Indian on horseback hunting a buffalo. He is poised to shoot an arrow at the buffalo, who has already been hit once. The background shows mountains, storm clouds, and lightning in the distance. The foreground is stylistically carved with plains grass. The detail is amazing throughout. We have applied hand rubbed waxes to the panels, highlighting it and creating a pleasing overall sheen. The art is framed in wood, showing age appropriate wear. Two hanging hooks on the back side allow for simple installation. The artist is still living, and pictured next to the work here.
